Naam Ras Kirtan Darbar needs as many good Sewadars as possible, and everyone is invited to get involved…

How can you get involved?

Darbar Sahib Sewa
(covers the Main Palki Sahib, Darbar Sahib & Ragi Jatha Stage)

Collecting all Rumala sahibs, Chandowa sahibs, Chaur sahib, Sheets, etc, in advance, and preparing them for daily installation
Setting up Palki Sahib & Jatha Stage
Daily cleaning and refresh of Palki Sahib & Jatha Stage
Preparation of Golaks, etc
Daily Cleaning of Darbar Sahib, including Vacuuming of selected parts of the carpet in darbar sahib, as well as main palki sahib
Daily cleaning & refresh of mobile palki sahib
Organizing Chaur Sahib roster, since sangat members want to do chaur sahib sewa (and everyone is welcome)

Degh / Kara Parshaad Sewa
(covers the collection, distribution and refresh of degh daily)

Transport degh from designated Gurdwaras to Singapore Expo by 5.30pm daily
Do Ardaas and Bhog of Degh, and divide into the various degh points
Distribute degh to sadh sangat throughout program & manage the sewadar roster (members of the sangat can help to distribute degh)
Ensure enough sewadars to serve dry parshaad at the darbar exit points
Ensure plastic bags and tissues are enough at each degh point
Bring fresh white cloth (to cover degh containers) every day
Clean and refresh degh counters daily (replacing plastic sheet, etc)
Arrange for extra degh to be removed from Expo hall every evening
Arrange for original gurdwara containers to reach gurdwara back daily.

Langar Sewa
(covers the collection, distribution and clean up of langar daily)

Shoe Counter Sewa / Joria Sewa
(covers set up and management of shoe counter throughout event)

Recruiting and rostering sewadars, so shoe rack is well managed at all times
Preparing logistics (plastic bags, towels, hand wet napkins, tokens, extra slippers in case anyone loses shoes, signs and banners, masking tape, markers, vanguard sheets)
Shoe counter will be set up on 22nd Dec, 9am onwards
Sewadars will need to be trained on shoe deposit and collection system
Sewadars need to be stationed at various points to encourage sangat not to leave shoes outside the hall, or in the service area

Opening & Closing Ceremony Sewa

Ragi Jatha Management
(covers the management of ragi jatha schedules, requirements, transport, airport transfers, receiving, etc)

Plan entire schedule for each ragi jatha, right from Airport pick up to departure
Liaise with families who are providing accommodation
Organize for airport pick up and reception
Ensure all accommodation in order, and hosting families know about flight arrival timings
On daily basis, liaise with families, drivers and stage secretary to keep kirtan timings in tact

Exhibition Management
(covers the designing, setting up and management of the exhibition)

Need volunteers to assist in the planning designing of the Naam Ras 2010 Exhibition. This year’s exhibition will cover the Shaheeds (Sacrifices) in the Sikh Religion.
Research and write content
Designing of the various displays and presentations à if you have good ideas or can design well (good design skills), please volunteer
Sourcing for logistics (e.g. props)
Disassembling exhibition after event, and carefully packing all displays

Decorations
(decoration of darbar sahib, reception area, palki sahib, guruji’s car)

Plan the decorations in detail
Recruit sewadars for the 22nd – main decoration work will be done on 22nd Dec (full day)
